GROUND SUPPORT SYSTEM

GO FOR LAUNCH

The Ground Support System is GU Rocketry's bespoke launch controller. Featuring controls for fuelling operations, rocket electronics management, and engine ignition, it is capable of supporting GUR's next generation of launches.

The GSS is comprised of two sections - the Launch Box, and the Hand Controller.

LAUNCH BOX

The Launch Box interfaces directly with the rocket at the launch pad. It is housed in a rugged, all-weather box, capable of surviving even the largest  rocket launches.

The electronics within, which are fully student-designed, are capable of relaying inputs from the Hand Controller to the rocket. The Launch Box can fill both liquid and hybrid rockets, and control motor ignition.

HAND CONTROLLER

The Hand Controller is GU Rocketry's big yellow button, allowing us to give the launch command from a safe distance. Student-designed from the ground up, it can send fill and dump commands for liquid and hybrid rockets, perform checks on the rocket's electronic systems, and send the arming and ignition commands to the Launch Box.
