Ground Support
System
The Ground Support System is a bespoke launch control system designed by GU Rocketry. It will be capable of filling and igniting hybrid and liquid rockets, and also be capable of igniting solid rockets. This preliminary design review is intended to evaluate the progress and technical competence of the design whilst identifying any risks or constraints associated with the project before proceeding to the critical design phase.

Hand Controller
Launch
Box
The launch box shall consist of a central MCU which will control the different launch operations. It shall communicate with the hand controller through the RS-485 communication protocol. RS-485 allows a high-speed network – 35 Mbit/s up to 10m and 100 Kbit/s at 1,200m cable. The launch box shall constantly report the state of each of its outputs to the hand controller, where they can be displayed to the user.
