JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

Led by Michael Nicoll & Sanjana Sran, our newly revamped Junior Development Programme teaches first year students the fundamentals of rocketry. Consisting of a series of extracurricular workshops, guest speakers, and lectures, the JDP gives you a holistic understanding of the skills needed to flourish in our project teams and in your future career in industry.

HIGH-POWERED SOLID ROCKET

Do you want to fly higher than ever before? Led by Charikleia Nikou, this project is our chance to take our society to new heights as we design, build, and launch a competition rocket with a payload that pushes the limits of our capabilities. This project calls for driven, skilled and passionate people in areas like aerospace design, structures, avionics, flight performance, recovery systems, payload integration, and more. This is your chance to push your skills to the sky, gain valuable experience, and help deliver one of the most ambitious rockets that our society has ever launched. Let’s fly high!

FLIGHT-WEIGHT LIQUID ROCKET

Led by Alex Cohen, this project builds on our previous development of our Icarus engine, with the goal of designing a flight-ready liquid bi-propellant rocket.

STATIC FIRE TEST RIG

Led by Aidan Hall, the Static Fire Test Rig intends to support the society's technical projects for years to come, by providing hardware to support our engine development, allowing us to run tests at a much higher cadence.

RACE 2 SPACE 2026

Led by Lewis Thomson, this project intends to design an advanced new engine to compete at Race 2 Space 2026, building on the success of Icarus, Helios, and Chimera.

FLIGHT COMPUTER DEVELOPMENT

Led by João Manuel Koehler Araújo, this project intends to develop our avionics hardware and software, providing an upgrade to our existing ASTRA and KRONOS systems.

RECOVERY SYSTEMS

Led by Brandon Evans, this project will develop an updated recovery system to be integrated with our rockets.

HYBRID ROCKET

Led by Calum Thomson, this project will develop our first ever hybrid rocket, and will push the boundaries of what we can engineer.

BUSINESS & OPERATIONS

Led by Oliwia Poraj, our Business and Operations team runs all the non-technical aspects of GU Rocketry. From coordinating events, to managing our partnerships and contracts, to managing project and society branding, B&O has roles for every interest.
